Lake Como and Villa d’Este were the witness of the I Dos of Chelsey and Alvin.
Directly from NYC with their about one hundred guests coming from all over the world, the couple decided for their wedding in Lake Como day the formal waterfront setting they’d imagined and in the country they adore.
This Lake Como destination wedding started from a rustic-style rehearsal dinner, that began with champagne and dancing aboard a steam-boat that brought the couple and their guests to a typical restaurant on the only island in Lake Como, the evening before the wedding day.
We plan different weddings in Lake Como and do the best to propose the right choice for our clients. When we meet this couple who was looking for a stylish Lake Como wedding planner, we understand that to stress the tangible passion they felt for each other, the right choice was a wide use of red and vibrant fuchsia: from their exclusive welcome gifts (which included fuchsia organza pouches filled with almonds covered in strawberry-flavoured chocolate) trough the flowers choice to the light design everything reflected this theme. The beautiful backdrop of Villa d’Este was widely infused by this two passionate colours, that represent love.
The early evening Lake Como wedding ceremony, was lead in the main garden with the impressive backdrop of Mosaic, actually completely transformed with a grass-green aisle runner and gold chairs with bright red seat cushions.. All flowers arrangements were in Chelsey’s taste using a combination of spray roses, orchids, hydrangeas and calla lilies. The large altar was natural and in balance with the surrounding garden, all covered by ferns; a touch of white organza draped over the top added elegance.
This symbolic ceremony was really customised, as it mixed Chelsey’s Catholic upbringing and Alvin Jewish traditions, including the breaking of the glass.
After leaving the ceremony set, walking as newlyweds through an elegant sprinkling of red and fuchsia flower petals tossed by their guests, they all gather together for the cocktail overlooking the lake.
Villa Este was the perfect Lake Como wedding venue for their reception. The main hall ready for the dinner seemed so magical while everybody walked into the room thanks to the lavender and amber lights
and the centrepieces, tall and grand in their glass vases overflowing with flowers, with a daring display of rich colour.
Definitely a perfect Lake Como wedding, definitely the celebration of love!
